The Mistrinanka brass music band was founded by the bandmaster Antonín Pavluš in 1967.
The music band with its excellent musicians, great enthusiasm and approach became increasingly popular and it drew attention of wider audience in Czechoslovakia and abroad.
At the beginning of its musical era, the band was awarded the highest music prize in 1975 when it won “The Golden Flugelhorn”, a contest of brass music bands in Czechoslovakia. Upon this wonderful achievement, the interest in Mistrinanka was rising and the band ranked among the most sought after brass music bands in Czechoslovakia. It entered into cooperation with Pragokoncert, an important Prague music agency and publishing company in the country. The agency not only mediated tours abroad for the band, but in 1993 it nominated Mistrinanka for the World Championship of Brass Music Bands in Hettling, Switzerland, where the band won first place.
Over fifty years of its successful activity, the band played more than 4000 shows on various occasions - festivals, concerts, dance parties, solemn events, and television and radio performances, at which it was awarded countless prizes. Playing Moravian melodies it toured almost all European countries and it performed even in the United States.
Although over the years Mistrinanka have experienced a generation changeover, the warranty of the brass music´s long-term quality remains - the post of bandmaster and art leader was taken over by František Pavluš, brother of the music band´s founder Antonín Pavluš.
Since the beginning of its activity, the band has presented itself through original interpretation of compositions with their own arrangement and solo works. The band has issued more than 90 CDs and DVDs for its fans. In 2003 it opened its own recording studio, which is used not only by Mistrinanka but also by other bands.
Currently, the band is presented by 14 musicians (mostly graduates from conservatories) and 4 singers. At its shows, Mistrinanka performs not only traditional folk music, but also modern and classical works.
We will be delighted to bring love and devotion to music to your hearts and homes.
We are looking forward to meeting you.
Yours Faithfully, Mistrinanka
